There are many people in our community with barriers to employment. Often this can be something as common as a "lifting limit" or an invisible disability such as epilepsy. Unfortunately, these conditions often associated with inaccurate assumptions about ability. As a result, some of our community's best assets are left underutilized.
The Green Jobs Inclusion Initiative helps employers find qualified applicants for high-demand green jobs by connecting to this untapped workforce in Eastern Washington. In the past, similar programs have started by developing a pool of applicants that they then work to place with employers. We believe that by starting with the employer we will be able to create better vocational matches that benefit everyone involved.
Community-Minded Enterprises' Equity and Diversity Initiative houses a Career Facilitator that identifies such work opportunities, and then reaches out to qualified job seekers for enrollment in this recruitment-based program.
